I just want to recommend a good short Introduction to Slavoj Zizek's thinking about Christianity: Frederiek Depoortere's book Christ in Postmodern Philosophy which treats Gianni Vattimo, René Girard and Zizek. I have only read to part on Zizek but it was extremely helpful, giving a good simple introduction to Lacan and a very acessible treatment of Zizek's Christology. Highly recommeded.

I felt that Depoortere was a little bit stultifying which respect to Zizek in places - the objet petit a is misunderstood for example.
Have you read Kotsko's overview? I found that very useful
I haven't read Kotsko's book, no, I am sure it is better, but this one is really short! :)

I found your blogg some weeks ago, and I'm pleased that there are other theologians who know and appreciate Paul Tillich. His theology has been a main influence for me since I discovered him by accident during my studies. I like your perspecives and your way of writing.

Are you taking a second look at Zizek? I remember you being rather disgusted after reading Monstrosity of Christ?
I tried reading the Monstrosity of Christ. I just couldn't follow it. I read with great edification Athanasius on the Incarnation, but Zizek and Milbank both seemed to be discussing abstract reflections on the history of interpretations of philosophy. It was over my head. Which was a disappointment. I was looking forward to the book coming out for a long time. I didn't even get a feel for what it was about. I found a very good lecture by Zizek at the discoursenotebook.com. I like him. I am an Orthodox Christian and am interested in religion in Finland. Are you aware of a religious movement there among lutherans called the Awakening or something like that? It seems very similar to the Morovian revival.

I looked at your blog about a year ago. Came back to see that you've shut it down and seem to be interested in Zizek. Gross! Don't do it! He's the public-intellectual for disillusioned and angsty teenagers - the hipster philosophe. He attaches a deep concern for things with an ability to make connections that apparently have meaning. "How can you be pro-life and not re-use plastic bags!" Annnnnd the skinny jean crowd goes wild. Gag me. I hope you haven't succumbed.
