Faith and Theology: Me on Tillich
As a part of Ben Myer's series of why we love theologians, my text on Paul Tillich appeared the other day. Have a look. The rest of the series is coming along nicely as well!
Thanks for your contribution - I enjoyed it. Am still yet to get into Tillich in any depth. Where would you recommend starting?
ReplyDeleteMost people recommed the sermons: the Shaking of Foundations, The New Being, The Eternal Now. I haven't read those very much actually.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, I read the Courage to be first. It is his phlosophy of religion in a very readable version.
You can find his English bibliography here.
Oh, one more thing. Tillich is very fun to read. I secretly think this is the reason why he has been so critisized. :)
ReplyDeleteLike Nietzsche.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the references. I'll get to them one day...
Patrik,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your take on Tillich.
His Theology of Culture is nice book of essays ranging across a number of topics.
