A blog about a positive Christianity in a declining world.
See Rules and Instructions.Ebehard Jüngel vs. John HickRosemary Radford Ruether vs. Joseph Ratzinger
HickRRRNot because I necesserily agree with Hick but someone has to make the inclusivist case. And Ratzinger may be great theologian, (among other things), but his attitude against his old friend Rahner gives Radford Ruether the point.
This is easy:JungelRatzinger
John Hick. Not that I agree with him, but at least it's possible to understand what he writes.Ratzinger.
JuengelRatzingerHick? Please. Those who don't understand Juengel haven't given him a chance.
JungelRuetherI may go to a pontifical school, but I here is where you find out I'm not a Roman.
HickRRRof course :o)
JüngelRatzingerI don't feel I know enough about Ruether to be decisive on the second one, but Ratzinger's influence is well-established, not least through his treatment of the South American liberation theologians. Guess this raises an important criteriological issue: am I voting for my favourite, or for most influential? On this game, I'm just going for influence.
Jungel Ratzinger cum Benedict XVI
JuengelRatzinger--this isn't even close
Half way through the game the standings are:12 - 5 to Jüngeland4 - 13 to RatzingerKeep voting
Obviously, Jüngel and Ratzinger...
